What does Olivia mean?
From the Latin oliva, 'olive tree'. The olive branch has stood for peace since ancient Greece, and the name carries that calm with it. Shakespeare gave it a shove into the English-speaking world as the noble heroine of Twelfth Night (1602), and it has never really left the stage since.
